will we have a ball player...
This last few weeks has been really fun. It's neat to see some of the developmental milestones. He can wave {sometimes}, clap {occasionally} "play" ball with us, when asked he can even find his monkey stuffed animal and his stuffed airplane! I like to think he's a baby genius:)
He hasn't mastered crawling yet, but he can pull himself with his arms. He has one little tooth that has popped through but not all the way out yet. I'm hoping he gets his second one soon so he's not a snaggle tooth:) I'm thankful for the teething tablets. They make his nights so much better. The two nights I have forgotten he's been up and needing to nurse to go back down. With the tabs, he sleeps his normal 12 hour nights.
I can't believe he's 8 months old now. It's gone so fast! I'm starting to plan his 1st birthday. So fun, but a little sad too!
On another note, C and I are going with Lauren and Ellie to Oklahoma to visit some friends for a day/night next week. A 3 hour car ride with an 8 1/2 and almost 10 month old will be pretty interesting!! We are excited though!
I also never got around to making 14 treats for my love each day leading up to V-Day. Maybe next year??

"mama"
January 1st I woke up to quite the gift. Cruz said "mama" for the first time while I was changing him!!
I was finally able to get him to say it while videoing. It makes my heart oh so happy!! I watch it over and over again:)
Best way to start off the new year and a wonderful early birthday present!

Intro to rice cereal...
At C's 4 month appointment yesterday we were given the green light to start rice cereal. He wasn't a fan the first time, but by the third time he was a pro:) My baby boy is getting so big but yet, still so small!
He weighed 13lbs 15 oz(19%) and is 24 inches tall (8%). I'll post his 3 and 4 month pictures next post.
He's so fun right now making all sorts of little noises and if he could crawl, run or walk yet, he would! He has some crazy strong little legs. Dr. D even said I'm going to be chasing this kid around!
Sure do love this little guy:)

let faith arise
Loving this song right now. Just listen to the lyrics...
Be still, there is a healer
His love is deeper than the sea
His mercy, it is unfailing
His arms are fortress for the weak
Let faith arise
Let faith arise
I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever
Be still, there is a river
That flows from Calvary's tree
A fountain for the thirsty
Pure grace that washes over me
Let faith arise
Let faith arise
I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever
His love is deeper than the sea
His mercy, it is unfailing
His arms are fortress for the weak
Let faith arise
Let faith arise
I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever
Be still, there is a river
That flows from Calvary's tree
A fountain for the thirsty
Pure grace that washes over me
Let faith arise
Let faith arise
I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

Thursday's Thoughts...
~ Off work today AND tomorrow! I never have two days off in a row!
~I'm getting my hair cut today for the first time in probably a year and a half! It's soooo long and I'm ready for a change. I think I'm going for this look... only wish I could go in and come out looking like her too! haha I just get freaked out because I have a round, chubby cheek face so this might make me look bigger. We shall see!
~ Tomorrow night we are attending the Good Friday service at church. Looking forward to it and glad they have one since we will be in Dallas Easter morning.
~ Saturday night we are going to dinner and to an improv comedy club called 4-Day Weekend in Ft. Worth with Melodie and Jeremy. Looking forward to a fun night out down town!! We've never been and have talked about going for 5 years now. SO excited!
~ I'm loving this song in this season as we head into Easter weekend. Christ Tomlin "I will Rise"
Happy Thursday!!

Sound check...
when we first brought Chloe home, she wasn't quite sure how to bark. She even sounds like a baby sometimes. Her bark has improved, but I still love some of the funny little noises she makes. Sometimes we hold her a certain way, just so we can hear her "cry". Is that terrible?! haha
Here is what she sounded like the first night we had her.

C.A.R.E.
After work on Memorial Day, we headed out to Bridgeport to visit a place called C.A.R.E. It's the Center for Animal Research and Education where they have taken in over 60 different "Cats" from Lions, to tigers, to pumas...It was so amazing to be so up close and personal with the cats. White tigers are Hub's absolute favorite animal and we were even able to feed one. {that was a neat but intimidating experience} Several of the cats are on edge, but several of them looked like over sized kitties and just wanted some love! Most of the cats taken in have been abused, neglected, or even from zoo's that have gone under and have no where to send them. We got a personal tour with a friend of my sister-in-law's boyfriend that volunteers out there all the time. If you are looking for something neat to do, without young kids, I highly recommend paying a visit to C.A.R.E. It's run solely from donations. So, there is no fee to get in, but any donation amount is appreciated and encouraged!
Here are just a few of the many pics I took...

what to do?!
Oh to have choices today!!!
Happy Wednesday!!
**side note: the low oxalate diet isn't going so well. I have not eaten some foods and lessened my intake of others, but I really need to buy this cookbook specifically for this type of diet, other wise it's not going to happen!
I've had this version of amazing grace by Chris Tomlin in my head:

Need to check her out!
A couple of weekends ago, we went to House Of Blues to here the beautiful Jillian Edwards open up for Sleeperstar. She did awesome! The girl is going to be big one day, just you wait and see. I have known this sweet girl since she was in diapers and seeing her up on stage, in her element, was incredible. I felt like a proud mom taking pictures and videos of her songs! We bought her CD and I even got her to autograph it for me. If you haven't heard her, you should!

PNB night!
Tuesday night we went over to the Brock's for a night of food and fun, along with the Pettijohn's. We cooked taco salad ( Yum Yum Yum!! ), had some great conversation and had fun playing Guitar Hero. During dinner we decided to discuss what one thing really bugged us about our spouses. HAHA! Probably not the best hing to talk about, but it gave us all good laugh. Nat brought her Doppler and I got to have a try at finding the baby's heart beat!! It was so cool. At first I was only able to hear Nat's, but after a little while that baby's heart was beating loud and fat!! That was the first time I have heard that sound live! So neat!
Then the Brock's broke out the guitar hero. We all took turns drumming, singing and guitar-ing. I am HORRIBLE at the guitar but was able to make it thru an entire song on the drums!! Lauren and Clint play so much that they can get thru any song. We had a blast!
After GH The Pettijohn's ended up leaving to put momma and baby to bed. We ended up staying and going down to the hot tub. It actually was not cold outside but the hot tub wasn't even hot. I would say just luke warm. What a great night with get friends!!!

Boo Boo's Buddies Park...
Last Sunday we took our pups to the dog park. We have never taken them before and we are trying to socialize Daisy a little more. She is pretty protective and super hyper around other people. We spent 1 1/2 hours there and the second half of our time was really great. Daisy seems to have learned a lot. We plan on taking them once a week. Tiger is always great with other dogs and people so he just had fun playing! It was a beautiful day and was nice to send some time outside!

Day 2, Wednesday
Our Anniversary!!
This day of our trip was spent on the slopes! We drive about 20 minutes west to Wolf Creek, Co. It was some of the best skiing we've experienced! Wolf Creek is known to have the best snow in all of Colorado!! Apparently on Tuesday they had a white out, so we had some awesome powder on Wednesday! The biggest part...neither of us injured our knees!! We were both worried about it but it was perfect. I'm not sure we could have really handled another day, but we got our fill of skiing/snowboarding for the year and we can't wait to go back. That night we went home, ate some lasagna, watched lost and enjoyed each other's company by the fire. It was a perfect way to celebrate our three years together!!

ready to go!!
this fire place is really neat. it's made of stone and iron and the stone absorbs the heat then heats up the whole house! It really puts some heat out!

I really want a new, not-so-puffy jacket...Ive had this for years and i HATE it! ha
I tried to catch him coming down but only got a small snippet...
Day 3, Thursday...
Thursday, we hung out all day at the house! We watched movies, played games and played out side in the snow. We took turns sledding down the driveway and pulling each other back up with the 4-wheeler! We also took the 4-wheeler around the neighborhood for a bit. It was sure cold, but the scenery was amazing!
