Easter weekend

We had a great Easter weekend. Friday, we dyed eggs. Little guy was not happy when we were finished and there were no more eggs to color. Big tears!
Blue and green were the colors of choice this year!
That night my dad joined us for the Good Friday service at our church. Since it was a special occasion, C sat in the service with us. He did great and really liked listening (and dancing) to the worship music. He's such a music lover! After church we met up with my dad's wife and her daughter for some fro-yo. C also got some Easter goodies from them! He loves his new chicken and plane camera

Saturday we headed to Dallas for our nieces 2nd birthday party at the park. It was a beautiful day and he sure loved running around and playing with his cousin and friends!
Sunday morning he got his Easter basket of goodies. He's really into trains right now so the new Thomas cup and fork/spoon set were the hits. He also got some flip flops, Noah and baby Jesus board books, suckers, stickers and sidewalk chalk.
Our little stud in his Easter duds, black eye (he had a fight with the coffee table) and Thomas cup that he wouldn't put down!
We met my mom and hubby's family for church at our old church. We had C sit in the service with us again and he slept through the whole thing.
(He was starting to not feel good. 2nd Easter in a row that he's been sick.)The church was taking family pics after the service, so the different families took those before heading over to my in-laws for lunch.
C wouldn't nap (2nd day in a row) and barely ate because he wasn't feeling well. That didn't stop him from having some fun. His CeCe gave him some Easter goodies too!

After his cousin woke from her nap, we had an egg hunt in the greenbelt by their house and some play time at the park.

We missed you M&M!!

It was a busy and great weekend celebrating the resurrection of our Savior.

December 2013 recap

December was a crazy month! My mom had her second knee replacement so C and I stayed 4 nights with her, lots of Christmas activities, my brother and his wife moved to Lubbock, dinner and light looking with friends and of course- Christmas! We drug Christmas out a couple of weeks. My bro and his wife spent Christmas week with her family, so we had Christmas with the hubby's side and Christmas Eve with my dad's extended family then, celebrated with both mom and dad's sides the first weekend in January when M&M came in town.

Fall and Thanksgiving 2013

I've really dropped the ball keeping this blog updated. It makes me sad because I love looking back and seeing what all went on in our lives.

Fall/Thanksgiving seems like forever ago. We had fun taking C to the State Fair- seeing Big Tex, Eating yummy foods, and C riding his first rides. We also went to our neighborhood fall festival, our former church in Dallas had one too that we went to, our traditional pumpkin patching with our dear friends, Trick or treating with more dear friends, and enjoying lots of good family time.

We had a wonderful fall season!

Neighborhood Fall Festival

This month is seeming to be really busy, with lots of fun activities. Our neighborhood threw a fun little festival with trunk or treating, petting zoo, bounce houses, carnival games, pumpkin painting, a photo booth, a choo-choo ride and food and drinks. Kids dressed up, so Cruz sported his little lion costume. I had to make his legs stick out the  side of the costume so his "paws" wouldn't get muddy and he could walk comfortably in his shoes. A couple even stopped and asked if they could take a picture of their daughter with the little lion. Melt this Momma's heart! We enjoyed the evening with my sister-inlaw, her hubby and my niece, who is just 6 weeks older than C.

Cousin love. These true truly love each other!

Petting Mommy's favorite animal. Piglets!!
He was so excited to see the goats.

Trick or treat
What's a party without a photo booth?!
Loving everything this season is bringing!

An Apple a Day!

Saturday morning we went to a local Apple Orchard with my mom. We planed to go with her to pick peaches several years back on her birthday, but because of rain, we weren't able to. Henrietta Creek Orchard is a delightful little place about 10 minutes from our house. We picked a couple pounds of apples and I have some plans to make some apple butter and another apple crisp! It's a favorite at our house!

I wish we had fruit trees growing in our back yard! Since I can't manage to keep the things I try to grow alive, the hubs has nixed my idea for apple and pear trees. Only in my dreams...

A check off of my fall bucket list:)

Some have requested the apple crisp recipe, so I will be posting that soon. I modified a recipe from a cook book just a smidge.

Fall is finally here and a Baylor game!

While temps are still in the low 90s on some days, the mornings have been absolutely amazing here! We kicked off the first weekend of fall with lots of time outdoors and I made a trip to Waco with my dad to watch the Baylor game on Saturday. Something I haven't done since I was there in 2002, and at that time we weren't a winning team. In fact, I think Pat Neff was only light up green once during the two football seasons I was down there.  So it was a lot of fun going to a game and actually winning:)

We played ULM and our mascot dressed up as one of the duck dynasty guys;) a show our house absolutely loves!
Final score 70-7! Sic 'em!

We drove around campus after the game. I haven't been back through probably since 2005. So much has changed! But I drove by my old dorm, favorite coffee shop, old apartment {shout out to the ninnies!} and even my parents first house, which is still there and happened to be right across the street from where I lived.

It was a fun day and I'm glad I got to have some one on one time with my dad!

A Reason to Celebrate

My hunk of a hubby had a birthday on the 6th. We've had fun celebrating him the past few weeks with each of our families, a dinner/movie date night and on his actual day with breakfast in bed, a family dinner out, cuppies and a Redbox movie! Thankful and blessed to spend my life with such an amazing man!:) Happy Birthday, Cakes!! We love you SO very much!!
