Thursday's Thoughts...

~ After hearing the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver were "separating" news I got in a tizzy. If I offend anyone with this statement or If you don't agree with me, sorry. It's just my thoughts. I just get really irritated when people say they are separating to " work on their relationship" maybe people say it because they think it's easier to say or hear, but I can think of ONE real life couple that actually got back together after separating. People are crazy if they think separating will bring them closer together. Again, just my thoughts.


~ I went to the gym for the first time in a couple of months Tuesday night at 10! I guess it tired me out though, because I slept until 9:15!!! I never do that!


~Hope everyone had a good mother's day. Mine was a little difficult and I'll post on it later, but SO blessed to be able to celebrate our moms.


~ Last Friday I spent the day with mom, making bedding for a friend's baby! It's so cute and can't wait to post pictures. Gives me good practice for when I want to make ours.

~We went down to the Bishop Arts District last weekend with some friends and it was a cute little area. We bought a coke from The Soda Gallery and ate at Eno's 



~ I am really wishing the Keller Farmer's Market wasn't just open on Saturdays from 8-12. But until I can make it over there I'm planning on making a trip to a little farm across the street from our development to get some produce at some point in the next week. We have been buying their grass fed beef and really like it!

~While 'm trying my best and praying to stay positive during these months of infertility, the longer it goes on, the more tests I take and the BFN's I keep seeing really take it out of me. Putting in another call to my doctor in the next few days. Not sure what's really going on in the body of mine.

~ Loved being off yesterday while it rained. I took some time to be a little crafty and will post it when I finish it.

~ we watch entirely too much tv. But I'm looking forward to grey's tonight And missed watching modern family last night. Seriously, if you haven't watched it you should. HILARIOUS!! My favorite show on tv right now:)

~ on an asparagus kick right now. Mmmm we'll have more for dinner tonight!

~ as much as I'd like to watch the royal wedding, I'm sure not going to wake up at 4am. I'll just watch GMA when I wake up
And get the highlights. But I sure think Kate is beautiful!

~I thought I might have killed my lime tree, but after some TLC I have new buds and limes buds are getting bigger:)

~ I'm in the middle of 3 books right now. Same Kind of Different as Me, Baby Proof and The Girl Who Played with Fire. So far, SKDAM is the one getting all my reading time.

So lots of randoms, but that's how my week feels!

Thursday's Thoughts...

~ Off work today AND tomorrow! I never have two days off in a row!

~I'm getting my hair cut today for the first time in probably a year and a half! It's soooo long and I'm ready for a change. I think I'm going for this look... only wish I could go in and come out looking like her too! haha I just get freaked out because I have a round, chubby cheek face so this might make me look bigger. We shall see!

~ Tomorrow night we are attending the Good Friday service at church. Looking forward to it and glad they have one since we will be in Dallas Easter morning.

~ Saturday night we are going to dinner and to an improv comedy club called 4-Day Weekend in Ft. Worth with Melodie and Jeremy. Looking forward to a fun night out down town!! We've never been and have talked about going for 5 years now. SO excited!

~ I'm loving this song in this season as we head into Easter weekend. Christ Tomlin "I will Rise"

Thursday's thoughts

~ had a great trip to Austin last weekend. My favorite part of the weekend was sitting outside by the bonfire with pizza and a glass of vino! A much needed weekend away! Oh, and a trip to Torchy's Tacos :)

~ I've been a little discouraged this week. Lots on my heart. My own worries, friends, etc. remembering that God is in complete control and that everything happens in HIS timing.

~Dreading a doctors appointment this a.m., but do have a Fro-yo date with my sweet friend Melodie to look forward to this afternoon!

~so proud and honored that my Hubby was asked to be a part of the committee planning the annual Golf tournament for Captain Hope's Kids! An incredible organization dedicated to serving the homeless children in the DFW area.

~ looking forward to our annual Freeman/Bass/Reid/Neaves Dinner on Sunday night! Our family has been friends with the Freemans/Bass since I was 5!

~ excited that I won a new blog design that my dear Darci was giving away!! Thanks, Darci!! It's time for a blog makeover done by Kelly from Fabulous K!!

~6 years ago today my sweet hubby made me the happiest girl in the world and asked me to be his wife!! One of the best days of my life :)

Thursday's thoughts AND a giveaway!

I haven't written my thoughts on a Thursday in a while, so I figured I'd start back up!

~it's crazy that it's March! This beautiful weather we are having has given me spring fever MAJORLY!

~We've been changing some things up around our house! Pics soon to come for "before and afters"

~ I'm off today and after a trip to the doc, store and cooking, we are headed to one of the hub's childhood friend's to take dinner and love on their new twin babies :)

~I'm  really trying to up our veggie intake, so if anyone has any recipes or a favorite way you fix them,  I'd love to try some new ones:) feel free to email me some suggestions at  lauren.nvs(at)gmail(dot)com  We are pretty simple when in comes to veggies. Raw, steamed and grilled is about the only was we eat them.

~We've been dog whispering to Daisy and Chloe in hopes that maybe they would love each other again. It's getting better, but it's a sloooow process and I'd really love it if they would kiss and make up already!

~I walked down the Easter Candy aisle at Wal-Mart yesterday. I maintained self control and didn't pick up 54970459  a carton of Mini-Cadburry Eggs like I wanted. I might next time though :) little bites of heaven mmmmmm!

Thursday's Thoughts

~ It's the last Thursday of 2010!! Crazy how fast the time goes by

~I will try to be a better blogger in the new year! This last half of the year I completely failed!

~It's December 30 and the high today is 73!! Nice, but not the weather I love this time of year!

~Hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their loved ones! We did with our 4 different families :)

~The different Santas in my life were TOO good to me, but I'm really enjoying my new boots, new phone(my other phone had about bit the dust) and a Keurig:)

~ It was our First Christmas Eve to go to our church's service, just the two of us! It was a beautiful service, children's live nativity, favorite Christmas songs, Lord's supper as individual families and hearing our wonderful pastor.

~We drove to Mexia on Christmas Eve after church to see my extended family on my dad's side, and got a fun announcement when their two year old little girl walked in the room with her "guess who is going to be a big sister" shirt on!!

~brother almost caught the house on fire during our Christmas dinner. He set his napkin a little too close to a candle and caught it on fire! Made for a funny moment after we beat the fire out of the napkin!

~Hope everyone has a very safe and happy New Year!! I need to review my goals from this past year and think about what 2011's should look like:)

...for comfy yoga pants and big t's
...for time with the hubs while I'm on vacay
...warm coffee
...my reader and 3 books that I am in the middle of reading at one time
...for a place to write my thoughts and prayers
...sweet cuddle time with my fur babies. Chloe is the lapdog I wanted her to be. She loves to be close and sleep with her head and paws on you at all times.
...that I've finally really figured out my sewing machine and have been able to be crafty
...that even though i dropped my iPhone and the screen is completely spider webbed, it still works fine!

Thursday's Thoughts...on friday!

**since I didn't finish this yesterday, some things have already happened and I'm not changing them:)

~ Anxiously awaiting the news that Baby Rose has made his grand entrance into this world!



~So enjoyed talking to mamma Rose last night for a little bit. It stinks when your friends live far away and you can't be there for important moments like this!!



~Dinner tonight with Mom, Stephanie and Ashley! Can't wait!!



~Enjoyed girls night last night with Resa. We sat and talked for 3 hours! It had been too long since I had seen her.



~ Still aching for Haiti and for some reason, the rehabilitation of these injured people is on my mind. It's a good thing that Doctors are over there amputating or fixing wounds, but I can't help but wonder what happens next? Will they be taught how to deal/cope with their injury or how to get by with only one leg?? I'm not sure why, but my heart is heavy with the "what's next"



~I had the WORST migraine Saturday. I left work after 2 hours and had to have my dad drive me home. I literally slept from 1pm to 1 am with a few hours awake in between. I think it's probably one of the worst pains I ever experience. I don't get them often, maybe 2 times a year, but that is 2 times too many for me!

~ So far I haven't kept one of my new years goals of cooking a new meal every week. Maybe tonight is the night??

~For some reason I am so tired after 10pm I end up falling asleep on the couch. EVERY NIGHT! Not good. I just need to not sit on the couch after dinner or anything else. There is always so much to be done and I never get it done.

~looking forward to book club next Wednesday night! It's our first meeting after having read a book:) excited to find out what the next read will be

~It looks like Sunday will be beautiful here! Can't wait! Church in the morning and maybe we'll have a picnic for lunch somewhere. Besides sandwiches, what are some good picnic foods??

Thursday's thoughts on Friday!

Since I forgot to post yesterday I'll make it Friday's, Thursday's Thoughts!

~One week until Christmas. EEEEEk!! So much to get done

~ I have been to the gym only twice since the trot. Not good. Probably lost what I worked so hard to build up to!

~today we trade my car in for a new {used} 2009 silver pathfinder! I'm super pumped about having an SUV again! {plus it will be my mom car one day. That's exciting in it's self}

~I will be sad to give my little car up. It was my first big purchase {lease} on my own. Don't worry, I did tear up as I took it for one last spin. She was a good one!

~Heading to Dallas after we get the car to bake with mom! It's a tradition we've had for a long time and it's so much fun!

~my skin is sooo dry and that's probably the only thing I don't like about cold weather. I'm also weird because I love lotion, I just don't love coating my hands with it. Not sure why.

~The Christmas party at my dad's last week was fun. Glad the Bass' made it out!:)

~had a wonderful dinner with the Brock's Wednesday night. Hopefully now that we have an SUV we'll be able to join in on the biking fun they have!

~I'm addicted to the Words with Friends app. Seriously, it's fun. but plan to be playing for about an hour!

~we didn't send out Christmas cards this year, so I will need to email one! We will pick back up with mailing them out next year!

~I'm off today!! WOOHOO!!

~ about to hit the gym, hopefully I can make it 4-5 miles today. YIKES!

~Trot and Thanksgiving is one week from today! I can't believe it

~ I plan on planting my pansies in our hanging basket and in a cute pot on the front porch. I heart flowers of any kind:)

~made some yummy yellow cupcakes with chocolate icing last night. I had a small one for breakfast this morning. They make 'em with protein right?!

~putting the finishing touches on the tree later on.

~we get to go see a sneak preview of New Moon tonight with the Brocks!!! I'm super excited!!!

~my library doesn't have "29 Gifts" bummer! I guess I need to Amazon it.

~I'm working on some Christmas projects and they are turning out pretty cute so far!

~103.7 is playing Christmas music and I L.O.V.E. it!!

Thursday's Thoughts...

~ We got down Christmas decorations last night! Everything is pretty much up except our tree. We have to move some furniture and I think we are going to try something different this year. My dad bought us this tree for Christmas 2 years ago {he knew that I loved big trees and thought it would be a perfect present and boy was he right!} It's perfect in my eyes, but I think my house thinks it's too big. It pretty much takes up every available space in the LR! But I LOVE it!:)

~two weeks from today will be the death of me. It's the eight mile Turkey Trot that we all decided would be a grand idea. It's not looking so good for me! Hope I can crawl to the car and enjoy a little Thanksgiving!

~first book club meeting is on Monday and I couldn't be more excited!

~I have the house to myself on Saturday night and part of Sunday. Hubs is at a bachelor party in Austin. This means I can eat cereal if I want. Sing and dance to loud Christmas music all while being crafty! No, I will miss him but it will be nice to have a little time alone!

~Almost done making Christmas gifts for the SIL and future BIL. two down, 23849854 to go. Now if I can just think of some creative ideas

~Happy Birthday to MIL and SIL this week!!

~hair dying #2 will take place this week. First attempt didn't go so well. Hopefully this time it will be an okay color!

~I hope the cooler weather will return. I'm talking I'd like to see high not get out of the 60's from here on out!

~I need to download some Christmas music from cds to itunes so I can put it on my ipod and phone

Thursday's Thoughts...

~ Tonight mom, mimi, sister-in-law and mother-in-law are going to the annual Countdown to Christmas at our home church in Dallas. We have been going for about 5 years now. It's so fun to see Christmas decorations, vendors set up and hear a wonderful speaker. Great way to kick off the holiday season!

~I've been making my own PSL thanks to Katy's wonderful hostess gift!! Tastes just like Starbucks!!! Thank you Katy!!

~I really need to get back on my "diet" and work on counting again.

~Yes, my co-worker and I listened to Christmas music on Tuesday. It was greatness!

~This weekend we don't have any big plans! I'm so looking forward to getting my house back in order, reading, going to church and taking it easy.

~mom leaves tomorrow for her Cruise out of Barcelona, Spain. You think I can fit in her suitcase???

~ I found a site you can swap novels or CDs on called paperbackswap.com Seems like a pretty neat concept, I might give it a try! Anyone ever done this??

~I have got to get back on my vitamins. I'm always so tired and have no energy! UGHH!

~ I wish it would stay lighter a little longer than the time I'm at work! It feels like it's 9:00 when I get home.

~21 days until Thanksgiving....CRAZY~


Thankful For: my day off! It's nice to have a day away from work. And tonight, to spend time with the girls in our family!

Thursday's Thoughts...

~ We have a reallly busy weekend consisting of a 5k, working an event, baby shower and possible trip to Mexia to see two relatives in the hospital.

~ It's raining again. Just glad the weather following is nice and cool.

~Had a wonderful Tuesday night with Lauren, Angela and Abi planning baby Rose's shower, eating a yummy dinner and having wonderful conversation!

~ It was one year ago yesterday that one of our friends passed away. Bittersweet day as we miss him but know he is with the Lord. We were able to reminisce with The Bass', who also happen to be Ross' family.

~ I can't believe November is just a few days away. This year has flown!

~Next week is Countdown to Christmas, which has become a yearly tradition for mom, grandma, MIL, SIL and myself! Yummy dinner, great speaker and lots of things Christmasy!! :)

~I'm going a shade or two darker for fall/winter. I bought a box so we will see how it looks...(insert nervous look)

~I have a lot to do around the house that I have neglected this week. MUST CLEAN!!

~my great aunt turns 100 tomorrow! (she's also one of the ones in the hospital) What a milestone!!

~ I get to have some of mom's cake this weekend!! YESSSSSSSSS!!

Thursday's Thoughts...

~I had a good day off yesterday, but I sure do miss having weekends off!


~I'm getting back in the habit of eating right and counting calories. Starting to shed more lbs. I'm down 6 lbs. 4 more lbs and it will make the total lost what I gained while on my medication.


~ I love cooler weather and a little rain, but this amount of rain is getting to be a little too much!


~ I listened to a little Christmas music yesterday. Judge if you will, but I love it. A little a day keeps the bad moods away :)


~I can't believe we are half way thru October. It's gone so fast!! SLLLLOOOW DOWWWWN!!


~Wish we could go to Baylor Homecoming next weekend. I haven't been to a game in a long time! Maybe next year


~my mom just finished remodeling her kitchen and it looks gorgeous!! I would love to have her

~we are going to a birthday party for a friend tomorrow night!

~made another batch of pumpkin spice cookies!! much better this round!

~I think the sun is supposed to be out for the rest of the week AND temps only around 72!! ahhhh...

~ We had to cut our trip short and could only make it to PA. It was an AWESOME time and I sure do miss the Pettijohn's and miss snuggling that sweet boy!

~The weather here has been pretty cool. Very fallish:)

~We hope Clint had a wonderful birthday!! We'll get together soon to celebrate!!

~Today Ricardo's Sister and nephew from Wisconsin come in town. We haven't seen her since her cancer diagnosis and since she's been CANCER FREE!! It's also a surprise and his dad doesn't know they are coming in!! I love surprises!!

~I need to get back into my workout/eating routine. I have been way off for almost two weeks

~I'm still on vacation through Sunday! I love waking up and doing what I want to do {while still doing what I need to do around here}

~I made more pumpkin bread yesterday. I think I have a problem.

~I plan on finishing a painting today to go in our game room area.

~ I talked to Angela at Grasigma and Lauren at The Brock's and we have decided to get our new book club up and running and have our first meeting in mid-November. We'll be sending out an email list to those who want to participate. If I don't have yours and you want to participate, feel free to leave it. I think there are two people that want to join that are out-of-towners and we can figure something out with Skype or Oovoo. YAY!!

~ excited that Katy and baby Rose will be coming in town in just a few weeks!!

~ why on Tuesday?? because we will be in PA on Thursday!!!

~ Hooray for seeing the Pettijohn's and sweet little Hudson!! I've been waiting so long for this day:)

~ The weather is getting cooler here but I can't wait for actual fall and really cool temps over the next week in PA and NYC!

~ Can't wait to visit the Rose's and finally see Katy's sweet baby bump!!

~Mom is letting me take her fun, new camera on the trip. I'm excited to play with it and take some good pics!

~I've been using a nettipot to cleanse out my sinus cavity. gross I know. Have you ever used one? It's weird but I think it really works!!

~I'm making another pumpkin treat. It's fall, I make pumpkin-y things a lot!:)

~ Have a great first week in October! We'll be enjoying wonderful company, food, fall weather and beautiful scenery over the next week!!

Thursday's Thoughts...

~ I'm off today so I plan on getting my fall things out and the house cleaned!!

~I go in today for my 3 month checkup for this patch, which means another check is on it's way!!

~My Iced pumpkin cookies were awesome, just too undercooked. I think I need to make more so they are made the right way!!

~ Wore my Uggs for the first time this year!!!

~Going to see Mary Poppins with my mom tomorrow night. also the night the state fair opens!

~I love our weather this week! It's been incredibly fall like!

~We have a busy weekend! Friday- Mary Poppins, Saturday-work then shower for our friends Bobby and Holly, going to see Ricardo's family. His dad is having his gallbladder removed.

~This time of year, we stock up and drink our daily Emergen-C!! We swear by this stuff

~On the way to work yesterday my tire blew out. 2 nice cops helped me change it (well they changed, I watched) while I was waiting on my hub to come pick up the car.

~spending the day with my mom on Friday!!


~ sweet Ashley got tickets to Britney Spears for her birthday and her hubby didn't want to go so she asked me!! Super fun and looking forward to singing and dancing tomorrow night!!

~I've gotten a ton done on my needlepoint stocking.

~ I made a new batch of pumpkin bread after the splenda version didn't turn out. This time I used 1 cup of splenda and 2 of sugar! It's tasty!!

~We leave two week from today for PA and NYC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

~got to meet up with Angela and Lauren at Starbucks to talk about a certain baby momma and baby that we plan on celebrating in just a month and a half. I tried a tall non-fat pumpkin spice chai latte and it was delish!

~I still love this rain but Chloe does not. It's a little irritating!

~I have lost 3.5 lbs total in these 2 weeks!!!! YAY! This is the easiest I've ever lost weight. Hopefully it will continue!

~We are going to start a book club here in big D so if you want to participate, leave your email. If you aren't in the area and want to play too, leave your email and we'll figure out something. Maybe a blog like Heather suggested or maybe we can figure out something with Skype.

~It's my day off! Yay!!!

~I've been a Pilate's girl and am going to my first yoga class in an hour! yikes! I might make a fool of myself!

~week one weigh in....drum roll... I'VE LOST TWO POUNDS!! Thanks to LiveStrong.com, I have kept track of my calories and exercise and I lost my goal of 2lbs this week. I want to lose 2 pounds a week until I reach 15 pounds lost! Only 13 more to go! Best part, easiest way I have ever lost weight!

~ pulled out my needlepoint stocking last night to work on. I finished Ricardo's last year after working on it off and on for 2 years. I am determined to get mine done this year.

~I plan to start a new painting project today :) I love to paint!



~one of my best friend's little sisters is having her first CD release party tonight at Common Grounds in Waco!! I so wish we could go but I don't think we will be able to. If you're in Waco, 7:30 tonight...Jillian Edwards "Galaxies and Such" release! $3 cover!!! Go Go GO! You will love her!


~3 weeks from today we leave for PA and NYC!!!!!!!!!!! I finally get to hold my sweet lil' nephew.

~I would love to be in a book club. I just don't know anyone in one. DFW girls, are you in a book club? should we start our own?!

~I'm looking forward to the weather cooling of just a touch this weekend!
